Ladies Night

Gin and Tara b-bopped it up at a Paul Wright concert while Andy was off on his little Man-Fest. They b-bopped it up at a concert which was featuring Paul Wright, during Andy's absence on his Man-Fest. Also, they participated in some b-bopping activities, Paul Wright concert style. Andy was gone on a Man-Fest.

The main points here are: lots of b-bopping going on, Paul Wright concert, Andy at Man-Fest.

Grand Canyon Man Fest '07

Andy met all of his brothers last weekend to hike across the Grand Canyon. They hiked from the north rim to the Colorado River the first day, and then up to the south rim the second day. Even though they were all sore and tired at the end, they all had a lot of fun and enjoyed hanging out for a few days.
They're already planning next years "Man-Fest".

The New Addition to the Olson Family

We are currently building our new home in south-west Bakersfield. This picture was taken a week ago. As you can see, they are moving right along. They are actually ahead of schedule, and we are so excited. Our scheduled move-in date is November 21st!!

Jensen Fam in CA-Land

Mom, Dad, and little Miffa-Moo came out for a visit. They flew into LA and we spent the day hanging out at Huntington Beach, outlet shops, ice cream (mmm....chocolate, to satisfy some cravings) and of course, some traffic. Once Andy pulled out the football, it was easy to lure Dad into the ocean with all of his clothes on. Mom wasn't so easily convinced, but she did show a little leg on the beach (ow..ow!!). The following day was spent back in Bakersfield. Merissa thought since she came all this way, she better hit up some stores that are unique to California...Target and Walmart. We all had a fun time and we were sad when we had to take them back to the airport!

Olson Family in San Diego

Mom and Dad Olson, along with Tuna, came out for a few days. We took them down to San Diego to fulfill Mom's lifelong dream of seeing Shamu. We caught her shedding a few tears after Shamu's show. After Sea World, we headed down to "Little Italy" in downtown San Diego and downed some authentic Italian grub. The next day we went to the San Diego temple, Coronado Beach, and of course some shopping at SeaPort Village. Andy and Tuna found some groovy hats at a shop in Seaport Village. Tuna looks like he's going to throw-up because Andy and Gini made him eat some sushi at a restaraunt overlooking the San Diego Bay. Tuna felt right at home with all the water around.

Sea World

In April we took a trip to beautiful San Diego. Gin was excited to experience the magic of Shamu. She was very brave and adventurous as she almost dared to feed a seal.
Andy kept getting hit on by lots of beautiful women at the park. Gin had to keep a close eye on him and keep the hands of other women off her hunky man. Oh yea!! It seemed like they were more interested in taking pictures of him than the whales and dolphins.
Gin's favorite part was walking with the lurpy flamingos. Did you know that their pink colored feathers are a result of all the shrimp they eat?
Andy's favorite part was the dolphin show. He was squeeling like a school girl as they jumped out of the water doing flips and other tricks.

Life in California

We moved out to California in January and it's been nothing but magic and fun in the sun. Every morning we wake up, walk out our back door, and go for a jog on the beach. It's very common for us to see dolphins, crabs, kit foxes, and the occasional whale. Gin's favorite thing to do is look for sea shells on the beach. Andy is kind enough to go out before she gets on the beach and place several pretty shells for her to find. He's very good at acting excited for her when she finds them. We have boxes (AND BOXES) of sea shells that Gin won't let Andy throw out. We've gotten rid of most of our food storage to make room for Gin's sea shell boxes.
This picture was actually taken at Point Loma in San Diego.
On a more serious note: We both feel like we've learned a lot since we came out here. We've been faced with many opportunities for learning and growth in our schooling, jobs, church, and social settings. As we look back over our time here, we can see how much we've grown and how much fun we've had. We've become closer as husband and wife and enjoy nothing more than spending time together. We do, however, miss our families tremendously and think of them often.
